Freedom; a right all human beings cherish and strive for, banishing any ideas of captivity. It is powerful and even more so the ability to control it. â€Å"The Truman Show†, directed by Chrsitof expresses the control of freedom in a utopian society that contradicts the purpose of reality television. This is done through the setting, costume, dialogue and camera shots intertwined in the unique world of Truman Burbank. â€Å"Ladies first†, a common cliche used to emphasizes the polite nature of gentlemen. Yet one can wonder whether it is purely the position and routine application of authority that ensures the power and control of females. In the opening scene of chapter nine â€Å"there’s no place like home†, a three shot of: Truman’s grandmother, Truman and Meryl portrays the genuine hierarchy in Truman’s life. Truman is confined and contained in between these two feminine figures; he is immobile and unable to break free. The setting itself is a cage; surrounding Truman in a world where his freedom is absent. Prevented and restricted from going anywhere, it almost seems like a cruel form of torture. Because I never have†, he has never had the chance to explore the unknown to go anywhere beyond Seahaven. To some this is immoral and wrong, to others it is just â€Å"good† television. Humorous yet serious, a phrase filled with irony and contradiction: Reality television. Reality is defined as a resemblance of what is real, a presentation of the good and bad of life. However like most reality television shows the â€Å"Truman Show† is not reality at all and the entire show completely contradicts its â€Å"mission statement†. Christof has installed different ways of controlling Truman in order to keep him on Seahaven. â€Å"We’re just going to walk away from our financial obligations? † Christof uses Meryl and many other major characters in Truman’s life to influence and exercise power over him, preventing him from daydreaming about the unknown beyond Seahaven. The sea is Christof’s strongest hold over Truman. Filled with memories of loss and pain and afraid from experiencing anymore the sea is Truman’s final frontier. It was the place where his â€Å"dad died† and where his high school sweetheart was taken away from him. After a spontaneous burst of slight madness and insanity in an attempt to leave Seahaven, an overshot of Truman and Meryl in their car stationary at the bridge shows just how much control and manipulation that has stripped Truman of his freedom in order to make a television show. â€Å"It’s all true, it’s all real, nothing here is fake†¦ it’s merely controlled†, unfortunately the control takes away the aspect of reality. Life is not controlled and there is no way that we can control it, which is possibly why reality is so beautiful. The ironic sense of the â€Å"Truman Show† is widely broadcasted in its Utopian society. Utopia is a place everyone wishes to be in, a place of bliss and relaxation where everything is perfect. An establishing shot of Seahaven’s centre expresses the â€Å"utopian† society which confines Truman. Clean streets, perfectly built buildings, beautiful sunshine and impossibly clean mown grass are few of the many â€Å"utopian† aspects in Seahaven. The costume of Meryl also prevents the audience with a stereotypical 1950’s housewife; fair skin, glossy hair, perfect body structure and a beautiful face; all features of every man’s dream girl. Yet in â€Å"There’s no place like home† even beauty and utopia cannot keep us from our hearts desires. The wedding day; a day every single person looks forward to, â€Å"the happiest day of our lives†. However through a medium close up shot of Truman as Meryl says this reveals Truman grunting and rolling his eyes. In the same scene as Meryl and Truman’s grandmother are trying to evoke happy memories of his past, the cross cutting from photos to Truman shows a lack of interest from Truman about what is being discussed. Hidden from Meryl and Truman’s grandmother but wide open for the audience to watch and digest. Truman is not currently happy and satisfied with life because he wants what he has never had. It is a part of human nature to always long for the things we do not have, but Truman has never had the chance to attempt to fulfil his desires as he has been a slave to the world of reality television. Reality is life; it is never in control, never following a set plan because that is what makes reality; reality. â€Å"What you are doing is wrong and sick! † Taking away the freedom of an individual is certainly not a resemblance of reality. You cannot control life no matter how hard you try. It is supposed to be lived out of control in a place where there are no bounds. Though this might be why so many people succeeded in life; because they weren’t held back.

Background of marketing: Starting In the 1920’s it was the production era. A product was thought to be good if it was bought by a customer. Producers could only sell what they could produce. From the 1950’s marketing was shown in a sales era. Customers didn’t buy anything unless they needed it. Communication and persuading customers to buy your good was now stronger then it was so some companies goods were better than others. From the 1960s onwards most markets have become saturated (the size of the market remains the same). This means that there is now intense competition for customers. The sophistication of marketing management has therefore developed into what we now see in a modern marketing department. Marketers are involved at a strategic level within the organisation and therefore inform an organisation about what should be produced, where it should be sold, how much should be charged for it and how it should be communicated to consumers. Modern marketers research markets and consumers. They attempt to understand consumer needs (and potential needs) and allocate organisational resources appropriately to meet these needs. Modern marketers are particularly interested in brands. They are also increasingly interested in ensuring that employees understand marketing, i.e. that everyone within the organisation involves themselves with marketing activities. Started from the 1990’s organisation had to start considering what customers actually want and had to form relationships to create ‘loyal customers’. Function of marketing: â€Å"The function of marketing is to encompass the whole process of deciding which product and services the customer will want and how will they be delivered to the customer†. Place: The place of marketing focus of how the product is contributed to the customers and where it is being stored. An Explication of Spring and Fall: To a Young Child Hopkins starts his poem, Spring and Fall: To a Young Child, with a question to a young girl, perhaps his granddaughter: â€Å"Margaret, are you grieving[? ]† (line 1). This quotation suggests that Margaret is watching the leaves fall from the trees in the fall and is sad to see the leaves go. Margaret is a young child, and in being young, she would have no knowledge of the seasons and why the leaves are falling. â€Å"Over Goldengrove unleaving? (line 2), Goldengrove may be metaphorical for her childhood and her lack of knowledge in life and death, because Goldengrove sounds very playful and beautiful like a garden or playground. †Leaves, [like the things of man]/ With [her] fresh thoughts care for, can you? † (line 3 and line 4), once again Hopkins uses questioning his poem, asking the young girl how she could care about such unimportant things as leaves. With line three of his poem, Hopkins also implies that Ma rgaret is showing characteristics of man by caring about the leaves. He continues that idea in: â€Å"Ah! s the heart grows older/†(line 5). Hopkins is trying to tell Margaret that as she grows older into womanhood, her heart will as well. â€Å"It will come to such sights colder. † (line 6), this idea is even further continued in line six, where Hopkins tells Margaret that leaves falling from a tree is only the beginning of her sadness, because as she gets older, she will see worse things than that. â€Å"Nor spare a sigh/[Though worlds of] wanwood leafmeal lie†(line 8) Hopkins tells Margaret that as she grows older and sees how bad things are she will not dare to cry at the sight of fallen leaves ever again.But, Hopkins assures her that she will indeed still cry, â€Å"Now no matter, child, the name† (line 10). Hopkins then tells the child that she won’t know or be able to verbalize why she feels so sad: â€Å"Nor mouth had, no nor mind, express ed† (line 11). Hopkins continues with â€Å"It is the blight man was born for,† (line 13) meaning that everyone is born to do one thing, and that is die. As Hopkins’s poem comes to an end, the last line reads, â€Å"It is Margaret you mourn for. † (line 14). This says that Margaret will mourn her whole life away, grieving about her own unavoidable demise, and that she will never even realize that is why she is sad.

Political rights protect a person’s liberty to involve themselves in politics via various acts like assembly, communication, serving in public offices, and vot ing. Equality rights ensure equal citizenship, non-discrimination and equality before the law. Welfare rights ensure that an individual acquire quality education and that the government protects them from starvation and severe poverty. Group rights are also remarkably vital rights that the Universal Declaration leaves that protect the different ethnic groups from genocide. It also covers the ownership of various resources and territories by the groups7. The various ideas that led to the development of the human rights arose during the Second World War. Conseq uently, we will worsen our current account by increasing our imports. Imports are defined as goods and services that are made outside the country while exports are sold outside our country from us. As a result, our economy will not grow to as much as it can as it will lose a large amount of its export market. However, the multiplier should be taken into consideration as it will affect the magnitude of the increase in aggregate demand. Overall this is known as demand-pull inflation. Increasing government spending may cause a budget deficit but it also has some benefits. For example, the government may choose to create jobs in certain areas. Therefore these people may no longer be relying on the government for money. This seems to reduce government spending in the form of benefits. As a result, that type of money can be put to better use such as children’s education or investments. Furthermore, jobs are created so people have more consumer spending. Consumer spending is defined as the amount of spending spent by each household. Consumer spending is the largest portion of aggregate demand. Also if taxes are lowered then people have more money to spend. When people spend money the shops make the profit. Profit can either be given to shareholders or it can be invested. Now in the short run prices will rise. However if firms invest carefully and on the right things, then prices can be reduced. Firms can spend money on new machinery or training programmes for workers.5 By doing this it will reduce their production costs and lowers the prices of goods and services. As a result, we will be more internationally competitive and will be able to export a lot more goods and services. As the diagram shows that investment shifts the aggregate supply curve to the right, cause the prices levels to fall from Pt to Po. In addition output increases. However, long have women been viewed and treated as unequal to their male counterparts. This inequality is alive everywhere. As displayed in Of Mice and Men, gender inequality is alive even in fiction. Gender equality has been an ongoing struggle in fiction and reality, our country and foreign countries, and in the past and the present. Gender inequality effects the people of the entire world. For example, there are major issues involving gender in Egypt. In Egypt, there are the sparks of movements trying to introduce women into government without challenging the reigning Brotherhood. Another place that struggles with gender inequality is the U.S. where women representation in government is very low. Only 17 out of 100 senate seats are held by women. Even in the U.S., one of the most highly regarded nations in the world, women are not entirely equal. Gender inequality has effected people all through time. In example, it wasn’t until the 1920’s that women could vote in the U.S. Women have long been considered less than their male counterparts. Only recently have women put a dent in the extreme patriarchy that has existed all through history. Today, women still are of unequal representation, pay, and rights across the globe. For example, in the U.S. today, there is an average pay gap of 77% (as of 2009). This means women earn 77 cents to a man’s dollar as pay for the same positions. This is one example of how inequality lingers in modern day first world countries. Gender inequality is also existent in both reality and fiction. We have already given many examples of real cases and statistics including representation and wage gaps. However, there is also gender inequality in the fictional world. For example, in Of Mice and Men, Curly’s wife is a prime example of gender struggles. She is constantly being marginalized. Sheis viewed as a thing that would get Lennie in trouble instead of an actual person. Even her name is never spoken. She is referred to as â€Å"Curly’s wife† which reaffirms Curly’s ownership over her and her status as a possession or an object instead of a human being. When her dead body is found, the first and only comment made of her death was along the lines of, â€Å"Poor boy.† Curly’s wife’s death was seen as nothing but something unfortunate for Lennie. This contributes to the pile of evidence that can conclude that Curly’s wife was considered a mere object. Through time, in foreign countries, and even in between pages, gender inequality has been a constant struggle. Charlotte Bronte wrote that she, a woman, is no bird. A woman, after having a net thrown on her and her fellows time and time again, must decide to declare that they are not a bird, but a human being. Human beings aren’t to be ensnared. It is said that the first step of fixing a problem is the recognition that it exists. So, women must understand that the net encompassing them is not a blanket, but a prison. Together, womankind must stand and declare, â€Å"We are not birds.† Hopefully, these examples of gender inequality is bringing more attention to the â€Å"net.† Hopefully, the realization will dawn that gender inequality is thriving among us and will not die out on its own. It has existed everywhere, always. A mighty effort is to be made to begin the reversal of this inequality and injustice.

Though expert systems have made computers more intelligent, they have not yet become a substitute of the human interaction in the learning process. In my opinion; what can be expected, is a change of the teachers’ role but not their disappearance from the classroom. Nobody can argue that the acquisition of knowledge is more fun and easier with computers. The mere activity of touching and exploring this device constitutes an enjoyable task for a kid. This, accompanied with the relaxing attitude and software interactivity, usually conduce to a better grasping of new knowledge. At a higher educational level; the availability of digital books, simulator and other academic materials, provide the student with an ever accessible source of information, that otherwise would not be at hand. But, besides the increasing complexity and behavior of intelligent software, which is usually embedded in the academic digital material, the need of human interaction in the learning process will always be present, at least in the foreseeable future. There is the necessity for a human being to be able to determine what the specific needs of each individual are. The expertise of a teacher in how to explain and adapt complex concepts to different individuals can hardly be mimicked by a computer, no matter how sophisticated its software is. As computers are becoming a common tool for teaching, teachers should be more aware of their role as guides in the acquisition of knowledge rather than transmitters of facts. They have to be open minded to the changes that are taking place, keep updated and serve as a problem solvers in the learning process, thus allowing students to discover the facts for themselves. To summarize, in my personal view, teachers play and will play an important role in the classroom, especially at the primary level. No matter how complex computers become, there will be no replacement for the human interaction, but in the way how this interaction takes place.

Disabled Childrens Access to Childcare Programme The Services Available to Disabled Children Introduction Disability is all too often seen as a social problem i.e. it is seen either in terms of personal tragedy or of blame. Disability has been theorised in a number of different ways, most of which locate the problem in the individual rather than the broader social, political, and economic influences. This has implications not only for the location of the blame for social problems but also for the ways in which services for certain groups are delivered and accessed. All too often access to services is hindered for children with disabilities and the burden of care is left to the family (Moore, 2002). In many cases it would seem that if a child has a disability then this is seen as a matter of private concern for families. The present Government advocates a mixed economy of welfare where welfare is provided in part by the state and partly by private companies operating for profit. The shift from public to private has received much publicity and contributed to social problems and to social e xclusion (Giddens, 2001).The mixed economy of care (largely as a result of the 1990 NHS and Community Care Act) has meant that access to care for children with disabilities has become problematic. Thus families who are already stretched both financially and emotionally face further stress as the result of being unable to access appropriate care and services for their child. This tends to support the view that having a child with a disability results in the family as a whole being disabled by the unjust society in which it is situated (Fazil et al, 2002).. Within the human services great emphasis is placed on the rights of the service user, and this discourse is also evident in Government debates on social support and caring for people with disabilities. All too often however, this remains at the level of discourse and is not followed through when it comes to policy making. This assignment will therefore undertake a critical review of research into the services available to disabled children to assess whether the problem is as broad as some theorists would have us believe, and what might be done to alleviate the problems faced by families who have a child with a disability. Research Question What services are available to children with disabilities and what are the difficulties associated with accessing them. Protocol The area of interest is children with disabilities. The outcomes are what services are available and what if any difficulties might be associated with accessing those services. Objectives To carry out a critical review of literature to discover what services are available to children with disabilities. To ascertain whether it might be argued that perceptions of disability might affect what services are on offer and how these might be accessed. To assess whether parents receive accurate information from professionals To make recommendations Search Strategy A broad search was undertaken of the following: Disability and Society Community Care British journal of social work – Child: Care, health and development www.doh.gov.uk/research www.socresonline.org.uk www.jrf.org.uk www.leeds.ac.uk/disability-studies/archiveuk/archframe A broad search of Taylor Francis journals and Google Scholar was also undertaken. Key word and key word phrases were, disability, family, service users, disabled children, disabled children and their access to services, access to services for disabled children, effects of disability on family life. Part of the problem for disabled children and their families has been an over-reliance on the medical model of disability which locates the problem within the person. Inclusion discourses and debates about discrimination tend to suggest that this pathologising of children with disabilities is further extended to their families for example Bowler and Lister Brook (1997) when speaking of children with Downes Syndrome say that: The identification of a genetic basis for Downes Syndrome led many researchers to explore the possibility that there might be behavioural phenotypes in addition to physical phenotypes that result from specific genetic abnormalities (Lister and Brook, 1997 p.13). Clearly this is locating the problem within the child and does nothing to improve perceptions of either the disabled child or his/her family thus discriminating against the family as a unit. Most of the studies looked at in the following review, and the ones concentrated on in the analysis, report distorted perceptions of disabled children and their families. They also report that services for disabled children are not consistent nor easily accessible. The key concepts that were present in the literature were an assumption that people have plenty of extended family support, use of formal and informal care arrangements, any difficulties in securing access to appropriate services, and the effects that having a child with disabilities has on families. Most of the research indicated that across the board service provision for children with disabilities was at best patchy and at worst lamentable and that it was this, along with perceptions of disabled children and their families that affected access to appropriate services. The review begins with an indepth assessment of three studies in particular and then reviews the concepts generally. Families and Children with Disabilities Fazil et al (2002) undertook a triangulated study (i.e. one that uses both qualitative and quantitative research methods) into the circumstances of twenty Pakistani and Bangladeshi families in the West Midlands who had at least one disabled child. The aim of the research was to try and understand whether and in what ways the discrimination that these families might face was compounded due to the fact that they had a child or children with disabilities. The researchers used a combination of structured questionnaires and semi-structured interviews to obtain their results. The research focused on parents’ experiences, their use of formal services, their material circumstances, and the ways in which having a child/children with disabilities affected their lives. A significant finding of this research was that while Government discourses centre on the integration of service provision in Birmingham (where these families live) there was: The absence of systematic services which came across most strikingly (Fazil et al, 2002,p.251) This view is supported by research undertaken by the Audit Commission (2003) whose findings suggested that across the country, rather than the integrated and joined up services that are promised, service provision was a lottery. How much service and what kind of services offered to disabled children and their families depended very much on which part of the country they lived in. Clearly the move to make partnership working the norm does not always succeed. Molyneux (2001)[1] maintains that this only works when certain guidelines are established at the outset. His research into successful inter-professional working established three areas that contributed to the success of such partnerships. Staff needed to be fully committed to what they were doing and personal qualities of adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to share with others were high on the agenda. Regular and positive communication between professionals was seen as endemic to good working relationships and service delivery. This communication was enhanced (in the study) by the instigation of weekly case conferences which allowed professionals to share knowledge and experiences (2001, p.3). Dowling and Dolan (2001) undertook secondary analysis of a qualitative study using the social model of disability as an analytical frame. Disability is usually defined too ways, as a medical model where the problem is located in the person and the social model where the problem is located in society i.e. as a social problem. The researchers found that having a disabled child in a family could marginalize the whole family who then suffered from unequal opportunities and outcomes. Through their use of the social model of disability as an analytical framework the researchers found that these families often suffered financial hardship along with stress created by social barriers, prejudice and poor service provision. Some studies tend to suggest that much of the care that is on offer is discriminatory – that is to say it takes the view that disabled children and their parents have a tendency to be over reliant on services. This article was a summary of the work undertaken in Leicester and it did not therefore, contain the views of parents and their children. Bush (2005) is a senior manager in children’s services and in his summary of what are called ‘inclusive’ services for disabled children he points out that the services are only on offer for a short while so as to discourage over-dependence on the service. This is not to say that some of the tasks undertaken by this partnership group are not beneficial, but there is no guarantee that any of the services would be ongoing. Fazil et al (2002) focused on the problems faced by members of two specific ethnic groups, the study was included because it was felt that the problems and feelings expressed within the study were quite representative of the feelings and experiences of many parents who have a child or children with disabilities. Although the study was very small, consisting of only twenty people, the use of both qualitative and quantitative data gave the study a breadth that it might not otherwise have had. Certainly the implications of the study were that services are difficult to access and all too often professionals make assumptions about the level of care and support that parents are able to give – these assumptions were also made in relation family support systems that the respondents may have had. The research also found that lack of support and the continuing struggle to access services and make ends meet affected parents’ views of themselves and their abilities to cope. Bryman (2004) has this to say about the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods It implies that the results of an investigation employing a method associated with one research strategy are cross-checked against the results of using a method associated with the other research strategy (Bryman, 2004, p.454). All in all the study was fairly well balanced, and did not for example, appear to exaggerate parent’s fears. The use of data triangulation tends to add weight to the findings of this particular study. Dowling and Dolan’s (2001) study tends to support the findings of Fazil et al. There appears to be a common feeling that when families have a disabled child or children then they, along with their child, are marginalised. Such marginalisation leads to stress in families and problems in accessing care. In many cases professional assumptions about these families increase the stress involved in obtaining appropriate services and care. This in turn supports the findings of Gregory (1991) that perceptions of disability and the assumption of parental responsibility has a huge impact on family relationships and on respondents’ own views of themselves as parents. Bush’s (2005) summary of a particular project in Leicester supports the idea that parent’s of disabled children are in some way responsible. The services in Leicester operate to help parents cope with their disabled child in the short term and then the onus is placed back on parents in the long term. The project aims to prevent what it terms as an over dependence on service provision. It seems to be the case that the feelings that the parents of disabled children have expressed in other studies are generated by the kind of services that treat parents as though they are trying to shirk their responsibilities to their children. This was a very short article that briefly described the services on offer, some of which would need to be continued even though they were only provided on a short term basis, for example physiotherapy. As the author of the article states: Each intervention is administered with the intention of ensuring that the services are short-term and discourage dependency (Bush, 2005, p.128). This may seem overly critical of the project because until its inception two years ago many of the services that it offers were not available at all in Leicester. The fact that even now they are only available in the short term tends to support the notion that access to services for disabled children is often problematic. Access and Attitudes in Service Provision Case (2001) found that parents of children with learning disabilities were often dissatisfied with the professionals with whom they came into contact and when services were provided they tended to be reactive to the problem rather than proactive in solving it. Perceptions of children with disabilities, and particularly learning disabilities are often devalued by society and this devaluation is evident in poor service provision (Chappell, 1997). King et al (1997) maintain that service provision often reflects how children with disabilities are perceived by medical and social work professionals rather than the needs of an individual child. This follows the view among many researchers that the medical model of disability is still at the forefront of most professionals’ minds. The problem is that medical people tend to see all difficulties solely from the perspective of proposed treatments for a patient, without recognising that the individual has to weigh up whether this treatment fits into the overall economy of their life. In the past especially, doctors have been too willing to suggest medical treatment and hospitalisation, even when this would not necessarily improve the quality of life for the person concerned. Indeed, questions about the quality of life have sometimes been portrayed as something of an intrusion upon the purely medical equation. (Brisenden, 1986:176). The medical model leads to the treatment people with disabilities as passive objects of medical attention. This view is oppressive of people with disabilities and spreads to other social relationships, it sees disability as pathological i.e. rooted in a person’s biology, and thus unchanging. Contained within this model is the perception of people with disabilities as problematic. As an adjunct to this model, disability has been theorized as a personal tragedy, which means that individuals with a disability are seen as victims. Treating children with disabilities as victims arguably leads to their becoming almost invisible in service provision. Goble (1999 cited in Case 2001)) maintains that the needs of disabled children and their families are often not addressed because issues that are important to service users, rather than service providers, are not really considered and are under researched. Hornby (1994 cited in Case 2001) has argued that professionals often neglect to provide parents with all the information that they should have when it comes to the needs of their child. If children with disabilities are to get the correct treatment and have access to appropriate services then the parents should be fully informed. Clearly disabled children’s access to services is hampered by social perceptions and by the perceptions that professionals have. This has resulted not only in problems accessing services, but when services are accessed they are not always appropriate to a particular service user’s needs. Research tends to focus on perceptions of disability and the disadvantage that it brings but as yet there is little evidence of what disabled children and their families actually want from service providers. Conclusion and Possible Policy Implications The prevalence of the medical model of health and the ways in which families are kept under-informed regarding the disability of a family member, particularly a child, affects family relationships. It also affects the attitude that professionals may take to disabled children and their families. Gregory (1991) maintains that when a person is diagnosed as ‘disabled’ this affects the ways in which society and the family respond to and deal with that person. Families themselves can tend to see the disabled family member as ‘sick’ and different. Gregory (1991) found that having a disabled family member also affected the way in which mother’s viewed themselves because ideological images of motherhood focus on having an able child. Thus a woman may feel that she is somehow not a mother because of the ways in which society defines motherhood. While doctors may diagnose a physical or learning disability families are often left to cope without either sufficient information or professional help. In a number of cases families have reported that hospitals have refused to admit non-emergency cases unless a parent or carer remains on site to provide additional support (http://www.cafamily.org.uk/rda-uk.html). A shortage of nursing staff and the increasing tendency to perform surgery on a day care basis means that many families are left with extra caring responsibilities once they take the disabled child or adult home. In conclusion it would appear from the literature that service provision is sporadic and often not appropriate to the individual needs of disabled children and their families. It might be recommended that more research is needed into what users actually want from service providers and that perhaps as one study suggested users fare much better if they are assigned a single key worker who will liase with all service providers. Living Wills, sometimes called Advanced Directives, are legal documents accepted in all 50 states. They clearly define a person’s wish to decline life-support or medical treatment in certain circumstances, usually when death is imminent. Generally, a living will takes effect when a person becomes terminally ill, permanently unconscious or conscious with irreversible brain damage. A living will also allows a person to state with particularity the forms of treatment are wanted and not wanted. For example, if a one does not want artificial life support, then sign the living will stating that desire. It is also important to discuss your beliefs and wishes with you family, spouse and other people whose opinions you respect, such as clergy, physicians, attorney or an accountant. Living wills are recognized in every state, but each state has different requirements. If someone is interested in making a living will, contact an expert in the state that you live in, such as a hospital, local agency on aging or local bar association. To help ensure that the living will be honored, give copies to family members, physicians, lawyer and other involved in caring for the person’s welfare. Federal law now requires most health care facilities (hospitals, nursing homes, HMOs and home health agencies) to ask patients if they have a living will or would like to complete one. Can Medical Care Legally Be Stopped If There Is NO Living Will? When there is no written document, a spouse or close family member may still request that treatment be withheld if the patient cannot do so, but the request could be denied. The way states and health care providers handle such cases varies widely. Typically, a doctor or hospital representative will meet with a person’s family to discuss what that person’s wishes were. In some cases a health care facility may want to withhold or provide life support against a family’s wishes. In some cases a formal hearing may be held to determine how to proceed. How To Make A Living Will The rules for preparing a living will vary from state. Some states require that the document be signed with the same formalities required for execution of a will, but many state recognize the effectiveness of more informal declarations. Different Types of Bridges The quest for travel has always been one that man has tried to conquer. First, he traveled on foot, and then developed methods of transportation such as boats, but one of the first obstacles that he had to overcome was getting across rivers, waterways, and canals. Today, bridges have become a part of everyday life; hence without them, people would have a much more difficult time going from one place to another. In the United States alone, there are more than half a million bridges (History of Bridges 1). Although bridges have been in existence since ancient times, they were not first made by man. Nature actually made the first bridges by toppling logs across streams. This was considered the first beam bridge as the flat rocks were used to support the log. Then, the water eroded the rocks and eventually a stone bridge was formed. The ancient Romans built arched bridges because they needed roads and bridges to connect the sections of their empire. The original swing bridge, from which the suspension bridge was produced, was a simple vine that swung people over the water. From these beginnings, men created four main types of bridges. To begin with, beam bridges, also known as girder bridges, are one of the easiest and simplest types of bridges to build. In ancient times, people used to make these bridges out of granite. Beam bridges can be made by putting a wooden plank over an area needing to be crossed. To get across larger areas, piers or supports can be fabricated up from the river bed to hold up a couple of beams. The piers of the girder bridge have constant pressure on them. Therefore, the beams, which are usually made out of concrete or steel, have a lot of strength so they do not crumble due to the heavy load. Many beam bridges are made of pre-stressed concrete. This concrete has steel rods inside of it, which help resist tension. When the weight pushes down on a bridge, the top of the beams are pressed together creating compression, while the bottom edge is stretched and causes tension. Beam bridges are not practical in cities with a lot of high rises, because the bridge has very low clearance. The bigge st limitation of the girder bridge is its length. Now that man has overcome the obstacle of getting across rivers, canals, and waterways efficiently, it is now time to perfect these human creations so no more mishaps happen. Even though people keep hearing about collapsing bridges, they still use them because it has become a part of their everyday life style. Without bridges, people would have a difficult time getting from one place to another. It could be done by means of a ferry or other boat, but that is time consuming and a real pain in the neck because once a person gets across the river or canal, they would have to walk everywhere. So, without bridges, things would not be the way they are today.

SmartCards What is a Smartcard A Smartcard is a standard credit card sized plastic card with an integrated circuit embedded in it. This integrated circuit includes a microprocessor and a bit of memory, which together hold information in electronic form and controls who uses the information and how they use it. The Smartcards ability to store and control many different types of information, as well as its large storage capacity, gives rise to several Smartcard applications. For example, a single Smartcard could take the place of a credit card, a debit card and even be used as an electronic purse to carry Electric-cash (E-cash). The plastic card itself can incorporate words and pictures or graphics printed on it which can be easily understood by the card holder as well as the people the card holder meets. The integrated circuit holds information in electronic form that can be easily, securely and accurately accessed by all sorts of electronic data processing equipment. Some Smartcards are smarter than others, the smartness of a card depends on the complexity of the embedded processor, as well as the software that is installed on the chip. Even the simplest cards, like the pay phone cards, are smart enough that they are virtually impossible to copy or falsify. However, the simplest Smartcards do not provide any security against unauthorized use. In other words, if you lose your pay phone card, anyone else can use it. History behind Smartcards In January 1974 Roland Moreno, a Frenchman and former reporter, devised a revolutionary new payment system. His idea was an electronic stored value application mounted on a ring. His idea was simple, when the bearer needed money, they would 'load'; the currency onto the ring therefore enabling the bearer to be able to spend electronic money at a store which had the suitable electronic equipment. Then in March 1974 Roland presented his project to a few French banks where he demonstrated a transaction-taking place from the ring to the reading device. In September 1974 the first chip was mounted onto an epoxy card and this was the birth of 'Smartcards';. Then in the next few years Smartcards evolved and took on the size of a credit card.

Courtly Love in Romeo and juliet Essay

How does Shakespeare show that Romeo’s love for Juliet is real? How do his words and actions differ from when he said he loved Rosaline? In Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, the introduction of Romeo to the audience is haunted by a melancholic mood. The scene is set in Verona where Romeo’s family is worried about him due to his rejection in love from a woman, Rosaline. However throughout the scenes studied, it seems that love is the primary driving force behind most of Romeo’s actions and words. In general, the theme of love and the course of it intertwine with the fate of the violent peacefulness of this tragedy. His determined desolation from his family stirs unease in his cousin, Benvolio. During the course of this tale, Romeo blooms to become a mature man, who has experienced the double edged blade of love itself. The characterisation of Romeo in the beginning of the play illustrates him as dejected and depressed boy due to his infatuation with Rosaline being rejected. In spite of this, his spoken words of ‘love’ for her, for example: ‘Alas, that Love, whose view is muffled still†¦Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ demonstrates the conventional manner of love that this is. Romeo’s words clarify how he sprouts courtly love poetry, which is machinated and processed. A modern example would be the phrase: ‘roses are red, violets are blue†¦Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ a common phrase which is predictable and an inferior imitation to real love. Courtly love poetry was often used in those days by men with social status to court woman; the purpose behind this courting was to flaunt their skills. Shakespeare demonstrates how fickle Romeo really is in the beginning of the play. As known, the words of love from Romeo to Rosaline are all courtly love poetry; fake, clichà ©d and scattered with misrepresented ideas of love. From his initial depression over his rejection of Rosaline’s love, to which he claims an eternity of sadness, to his new professed to Juliet at the Capulet ball. His inconstant change of his receiver of affections hint that his frivolous nature is what defines him. However, his short mourning of Rosaline can suggest of his instant connection with his other half of his soul, Juliet. His halted period of the ‘eternity of sadness’ can only illustrate the strong connection between the two lovers. ‘Love at first sight’ is a familiar phrase to describe how the two fell in love. Could Romeo’s initial fickleness in love demonstrate the vast contrast when he meets Juliet? Romeo soon begins to genuinely fall in love with Juliet as well as idolising her. His first meeting with Juliet at the Capulet ball starts to weave a complicated web of reality, love, fate and death. It is at this moment that Romeo finally grasps/comprehends the true notion of love. His worship and love for Juliet may seem foolish and much like his initial infatuation for Rosaline at the beginning, however it is soon acknowledged that her refusal speaks something differently to him. A strong example of this is in the balcony scene, at which Romeo in his own peril tries to see Juliet. He sets the foundation of this scene when he begins to compare Juliet to all sorts of things of great beauty. He sees Juliet as light and calls her ‘the Sun†¦Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ He claims that even the moon, the traditional symbol for a woman’s beauty and purity, is envious of Juliet. This characterization is not merely dramatic. The use of these superlatives is meant to convey Romeo’s deep feelings. When compared to his earlier characterization of Rosaline, Romeo’s tribute to Juliet takes on even more significance. The difference between what Romeo says of Rosaline and what he says in the â€Å"But soft† speech about Juliet emphasises his adoration even more. His characterization of Rosaline commences with the traditional comparison to Diana. Romeo acknowledges that Rosaline is â€Å"rich in beauty† and that her beauty is defined in terms of her chastity. It’s part of her appeal to Romeo. Romeo values Rosaline because she will not satisfy his desires; therefore, he thinks of her beauty as lost to ‘all posterity’. However, when he describes Juliet and invokes the sun, he suggests something far more potent: the eternal source of light and life-giving force of the heavens. Juliet’s beauty and warmth will live forever and do not depend upon Romeo’s perceptions. She exists independently of Romeo, and when Romeo thinks of Juliet, he dwells on her and not on what she will do for him. Romeo’s language demonstrates that although he was infatuated with Rosaline; he has no mere crush on Juliet. He is deeply in love, and the depth of his feelings demonstrates Romeo’s maturation. His speech is long and full of devotion, to which Juliet replies: ‘O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? (Oh Romeo, why do you have to be a Montague?)’. Her obvious fondness for her is displayed, although at this point Romeo is still sprouting his ‘courting’ words. In the middle of the dialogue, Juliet dares to interrupt Romeo on one of his ramblings as she is sorely frustrated with Romeo’s pretence. As he swears by the moon, Juliet responds by saying: ‘O swear not by the moon, th’inconstant moon. That monthly changes in her circled orb, lest that thy love prove likewise variable.’ Once Romeo is firmly ‘put in his place’ by Juliet by her professing that he speak directly to her and not swear on something that disappears in the day and is ever-changing. In addition, when at first Romeo kisses Juliet at the Capulet ball, she accuses him of kissing by the book (kissing expertly), which is the ‘Hallmark’ love that was shown in the beginning. Shakespeare illustrates to the audience that Romeo and Juliet’s love in genuine through the comparison between his love for Rosaline and then his love for Juliet. As written by Shakespeare, Romeo proclaims to be in an eternity of sadness (darkness), however, he soon meets Juliet who is his ‘sunshine’ in his ‘darkness’. Even though Romeo had been rejected by Rosaline, he never tried to court her again, as if his determination went down the drain. On the other hand with Juliet, Romeo tried again and again to try to win her favour, to the point where he risked talking to her by sneaking into her garden. Although the language from Romeo in both scenes has been passionate, however a powerful example of their fated love is their first dialogue. In the Capulet ball, their first encounter and dialogue encompasses in total 14 lines, more commonly known as a sonnet. Sonnets were often written about love, and using a sonnet in this sense shows how they are two halves of one soul; fated to be with each other, for without one half the other in incomplete. The language used is potent in every sense, personifying Romeo’s words when he talks to Juliet. His determination to win Juliet’s favour demonstrates his true ardour for her, whereas his lust for Rosaline left him desolated and irresolute. All of these factors lead to the one point that Romeo’s love for Juliet is real compared to his infatuation with Rosaline in the beginning. In conclusion, a possible theory as to why Shakespeare shows this contrast in love, could be to illustrate when later in the tragedy, their deaths (suicides) were not foolish but bred of unadulterated and unconditional love. To emphasise that they were truly intertwined with each other as to the fact that they could not be separated, ‘til death do us part. Furthermore, it could also be said that Shakespeare showed this contrast to suggest that in this world there is a difference between lust and love, and the difference covers a broad horizon. Perhaps Shakespeare wanted the audience to comprehend how sweet love can bring the most violent of outcomes and what is commonly read in poems or tales are unrealistic and not a true representative of what love is truly like. Maybe it was Shakespeare’s own way of providing the audience of a ‘reality check’, just as Juliet did with Romeo in the play. Many things could be understood from this play which interlocks countless themes of love, fate, death, time, individuality etc†¦, all of which conveys the immense expanse of possible ‘whys?’ as Shakespeare was trying to cover.

She was barely eight years old when together with seven of her age mates ,she was handed over to a traditional circumciser who took them through the painful process of FGM. it has been many years since ,and she has accomplished so much in life, but the incident remains fresh in her mind. The old woman who took them through the process was going blind, she says, and three of the eight who underwent the procedure died due to excessive bleeding. One of them was her very close friend. Luckily for her, the bleeding was not too much and she had a savior at hand. Her father, who was a policeman, took her to a hospital in Garissa using a police land rover. This was the traumatizing experience that nominated Member of Parliament, Sophia Abdi Noor went through when her mother blessed her to undergo the rite of passage that would cleanse her and make her acceptable for marriage according to tradition. Never before in history of the august house had a member used her own life experience to move debate as Ms.  Sophia did when supporting the bill to outlaw female genital mutilation. Female genital mutilation is the term used for operations or removal of all or just part of the external parts of female genitilia. This practice has for a long time come under increasingly intense international scrutiny from the news media, feminist and human rights organizations. The main reasons for continuation of FGM are firstly, as a rite of passage from girlhood to womanhood; a circumcised woman is considered mature, obedient and aware of her role in the family and society. Secondly, FGM is perpetuated as a means of reducing sexual desire of girls and women, thereby curbing sexual activity before and ensuring fidelity within marriage. Although opposition to female ‘circumcision’ has been articulated throughout the twentieth century, starting with missionaries and colonial administrators, the current resurgence of indignation was ignited in part by activists at conferences honoring the United Nations Decade for women(1975-1985). (Shell-Duncan. B,Hernland-Y;pg 23) The practice of circumcising women has very deep roots that touch all aspects of the cultures that continue to inflict it upon their girls. However,it still remains to be a practice that violates the human rights of affected women in a moral and ethical sense because it generates psychological torture, low self-esteem, tampers with a woman’s sexuality and is a health hazard. Psychological torture The pain inflicted by F. G. M does not stop with the initial procedure, but often continues as an ongoing torture throughout a woman’s life. Intense pain and hemorrhage experienced during the procedure can lead to shock. A 1985 Kenyan study found that nearly 97% of the 269 women interviewed experienced intense pain during and after F. G.  M and more than 13% went into shock. According to WHO, It is self-evident that any form of surgical interference in the highly sensitive genital organs constitutes a serious threat to the woman, and that the painful operation is a source of major physical as well as psychological trauma. The extent and nature of the immediate and long-term mental disturbances will depend on the girl’s inner defences, the prevailing psychological environment, and a host of other factors. The family no doubt does its best to mitigate the painful effects of the operation; nonetheless, they necessarily undergo overwhelming experiences. Even before the operation, the threat of ‘cutting’ and fear provoking situation may disturb the mental state of the child to the degree that it causes worry, anxiety, sleeplessness, nightmares or panic. As anticipating precautions against these anxieties the family commonly uses various forms of traditional magi co-religious practice such as fumigation, or the wearing of amulets. On a religious perspective, the scripture prescribes that special efforts be made to care for those who are most vulnerable. (Deut 10:17-19,Ps 82:3,4; Ps24:11,12;Luke 1:52-54) Jesus taught that children should be loved and protected. Therefore,the genital mutilation of young girls violates the biblical mandate to safeguard children and protect them from harm and abuse Tampers with a woman’s sexuality. Sexual intercourse can only take place after opening the infibulation, through surgery or penetrative sexual intercourse. Consequently, intercourse is frequently painful during the first weeks after initiation. Although it is difficult to verify reports or women’s sexual experiences, physical complications from FGM often impede sexual enjoyment. FGM destroys much or all of the vulva nerve endings, delaying arousal or impairing orgasm. Lacerations loss of skin elasticity, or development of neuron (a tumor or mass growing from a nerve) can lead to painful intercourse. In a 1993 Kenyan study, 5% of women interviewed experienced painful intercourse while 9. 3% of them reported having difficult or impossible penetration, and that many of the married ones only accepted it only as a duty. Scripture celebrates the divinely ordained gift of sexual intimacy within marriage (Eccl9. 9;Prov 5:18,19). The practice of female genital mutilation should be renounced because it threatens the creator’s design for the experience of joyful sexuality by married couples. For married couples, the gift of sexual union may be further blessed by the birth of children (Prov 31:28). The fact that successful childbirth is threatened by FGM is additional grounds for opposition to this practice. Health hazard. In October 1994, as a response to the call to Global Action,UNICEF issued an executive directive declaring that FGM is a health hazard to children and violation of their human rights. FGM in any form should not be practiced by health professionals in any setting including hospitals or other health establishments. Unnecessary oddly mutilation cannot be condoned by health providers. FGM is harmful to the health of women and girls and violates their basic human rights and medicalization of the procedure does not eliminate this harm. On the contrary, it reinforces the continuation of the practice by seeming to legitimize it. Health practitioners should provide all necessary care and counseling for complications that may arise as a result. Group circumcision, where the same unsterilized instrument is used on several girls at a time, repeat cutting and stitching increases risk of HIV infection. The Bible presents the goodness of God’s creation, including the creation of human beings (Gen 1:31; Ps 139:13, 14). God is the source and sustainer of human life (Job 33:4; john 1:3, 4). He calls for preservation of human life and holds humanity accountable for its destruction(Gen 9:5,6;Ex20:13,Jer 7:3-34). The human body is the â€Å"the temple of the Holy Spirit,† and followers of God are urged to care for and preserve their bodies, including the Creator’s gift of sexuality, as a spiritual responsibility (1cor6:15-19). Because FGM is harmful to health, threatening to life, and injurious to sexual function, it is incompatible with the will of God. Having discussed the side effects that FGM pauses to victims, various communities have come up with measures to fight this procedure, an alternative rite of passage in the abandonment of FGM is used. It involves a four-step procedure Preparation Seminars for both parents and initiates are encouraged. The topics will include side effects of female circumcision, and get prepared to attend a residential seminar to elaborate on what the alternative procedure entails. Actual Circumcision In the alternative Rite of passage, actual circumcision should be stopped since we have learnt that it is not necessary to make a woman an adult nor mature. The side effects of F. C both short and long terms are to be avoided if actual circumcision is not performed. Parents can select a teacher and trainer, for their daughter who will accompany her to the residential centre for an alternative rite of passage seminar. Seclusion. For this the girls will attend a residential seminar for one week away from home. The initiate will be accompanied with their teacher and trainer. Women both circumcised and un circumcised from the community will facilitate during the seminar. Additional topics-AIDS, STI’s, simple hygiene and great women in the Bible, in community and in Kenya. Rites and rituals will be optional. Girls of circumcision age are between six and twelve years old. For the purpose of effective learning, the girls will be divided into two groups; girls between six and nine, ten and twelve. Graduation Graduation is expected to be brief and colourful. Songs, drama, plays and poems will be encouraged. Parents, community leaders, politicians and government officials will be invited to attend to witness the graduation of whole girls. Certificates of graduation will be awarded and prayers, blessings conducted. Exchange of gifts for newly graduated girls will be carried out and finally the graduates will be handed over to the community,chief,church elders and clan elders. Since it’s an annual event, committees are to b e established to plan for the following year.

The objects for which the Company is established are:- (A) THE MAIN OBJECTS TO BE PURSUED BY THE COMPANY ON ITS INCORPORATION ARE: 1.To carry on the business as promoters, dealers, owners, investors, developers, agents, brokers of land, building, estates or any other structural or work of any kind whatsoever, whether rural, urban, residential, commercial or industrial and to acquire, purchase, take on lease or in exchange, hire or by any other means obtain ownership of and/or options over any freehold or other property of any tenure, state or interest or any rights, privileges or easements over or in respect of any property, land and building, to improve, alter, furnish, construct, promote, develop, finance or subsi dize the same and to dispose of or maintain, assist in sale of the same, to build townships, buildings, residential, Colonies, factories, industries, warehouses, shops, cultural, sports or recreational commercial complexes, shopping malls including restaurants and hotels, markets or conveniences thereon or to equip the same or any part thereof with all or any amenities or conveniences, drainage, sanitation, facility, electricity, air-conditioning, internet, water, telephone and television installation and to deal with the same in any manner whatsoever, and to build, take on lease, and/or rent, purchase or acquire in any manner whatsoever any apartment, houses, flats, rooms, floors or other accommodation and to let or dispose of the on installment basis, hire purchase basis, deferred payment basis or by outright sale whether by private treaty or by public auction or in any other mode of disposition all or any integral part thereof. (B) THE OBJECTS INCIDENTAL OR ANCILLARY TO THE attai nment of the main objects are: 1. To employ or enter into agreement with manger, engineers, accountants, mechanics masons, carpenters, cutters, welders, builders, repairers, painters, electricians, scaffold, sellers laborers and other persons for the objects of the company. 2. To purchase or otherwise acquire and undertake the whole or any part of the business property and assets, liabilities of persons or company carrying on any business similar to the main objects of the company and which the company is authorized to carry on. 3.To invest any surplus money not immediately required by the company in such investments other then shares or stock in this company as may be thought proper and to hold or sell such investments. 4. To purchase or otherwise acquire any patents, patent-rights, secret processes inventions concessions, licenses, right and privileges and the like, conferring and exclusive of non- exclusive or limited right to use, any secret or other information as to any invent ion which may seem capable to being used for any of the purposes of the company or the acquisition of which may seem calculated directly or indirectly to benefit the company and use, exercise, develop or grant, licenses, in respect of or otherwise turn to account the property, rights of information so acquired. 5.Subject to the Provision of Section 58 A of the Companies Act, 1956 and the rules framed there under the directions issued by the Reserve Bank of India from time to time as may be applicable to borrow or raise or secure the payment of the money in such manner as the Company may think fit and in particular by the issue of bonds, debentures or debenture- stock, perpetual or otherwise, whether constituting a charge upon all or any parts of the Company's property, both present and future, including its uncalled capital or without constituting a charge as aforesaid and to receive money on deposit, on interest or otherwise, and to lend, advance or deposit money, on interest or ot herwise, without security, to companies, firms or persons on such terms as may seem expedient, and in that the Company shall not carry on the business of banking as defined in the Banking Regulations Act, 1949. 6.To guarantee the payment of money secured by or payable under or in respect of bonds, debentures, debenture-stock, contracts, mortgages, charges, obligations and other securities of any company or of any authority whether Central, State, Municipal, Local or otherwise, or of any person whosoever, whether incorporated or not incorporated. 7. To enter into partnership or into any arrangement for sharing the profits or joint adventure with any person, firm or company carrying on or about to carry on any business capable of being conducted so as to directly or indirectly this Company and to acquire or join in the acquiring of any such business. 8.To sell or dispose of the undertaking of the Company or any part thereof for such consideration as the Company may think fit and in pa rticulars for shares, fully or partly paid, debentures, debenture-stock (redeemable or perpetual) or securities of any other company having objects altogether or in part similar to those of this Company, and to distribute any such shares, debentures, debenture-stock or securities, amongst the members of this Company, either by way of dividends or upon any return of capital, subject to the provisions of the law in force. 9. To allot shares in this Company to be considered as fully or partly paid up on payment of any property of whatever description which the Company may acquire. 10. To sell, improve, manage, work, develop, lease, mortgage, charge, hypothecate, deposit by way of loan or otherwise dispose of, turn to account or otherwise deal with all or any part of the property of the Company whenever or however acquired. 11. To procure the Company to be recognized or registered in any foreign place of country. 12.To merge, reconstruct amalgamate with or without winding up with any co mpany or companies having objects altogether or in part, similar to those of the present Company. 13. To promote any company or companies for the purpose of acquiring all or any of the property or liabilities of this Company or for any other purpose which may seem directly or indirectly calculated to benefit this Company and to underwrite, subscribe for, or otherwise acquire all or any part of the shares or securities of any such company as aforesaid. 14. To enter into arrangement with any authorities whether Central, State, Municipal, Local or otherwise that may seem conducive to the Company’s objects or any one of them, and to acquire by grant, purchase or otherwise from any such authority any rights, grants, rivileges and concessions of property or otherwise which the Company may think it desirable to obtain and to carry out, exercise and comply with any such arrangements, privileges and concessions. 15. To obtain or assist in obtaining any provisional or other order or li cense or any Act to Parliament or Law, Order or Charter of any Legislature of Government, for enabling the Company to carry any of its objects into effect. 16. To draw, make, accept, endorse, discount, execute and issue promissory notes, bills of exchange, bills of lading, warrants, orders, debentures and other negotiable or transferable instruments, and in that the Company shall not carry on the business of banking as defined in the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. 17.To grant pensions, allowances, gratuities and bonus to the employees or ex-employees of the Company or the dependents of such persons, and to establish and support or to aid in the establishment and support of associations, institutions, funds, trusts and convenience (except associations or institutions formed for the purposes of Life Insurance)calculated to benefit employees or ex-employees of the Company or its predecessors in business or the relatives, dependents of such persons and to subscribe or guarantee money to and for charitable or benevolent objects or for any exhibition or for any public, general or useful objects. 18. To remunerate the servants of the Company and others out of and in proportion to the profits of the Company, or otherwise, as the Company may think fit. 19. To remunerate any person or Company for service rendered about the formation or promotion of the Company or the conduct of its business. 20. To pay out of the funds of the Company all costs, charges, and expenses preliminary and incidental to the promotion, formation, establishment and registration of the Company. 21.To take into consideration and to approve and confirm all acts, deeds or things that may be done or entered into with any person, firm or body corporate by the promoters of the Company and further to enter into any arrangement, agreement or contract with the promoters and/or to reimburse them in or in connection with the formation or promotion of the Company. 22. To adopt such means of making known to the public, the business of the Company as may seem expedient and in particulars by advertising in the press, by circulars and by publications of books and periodicals 23. In the event of winding up of the Company to distribute any of the property of the Company in specie amongst the members but to distribution amounting to a reduction in Capital be made, without obtaining the sanction of the relevant authority as may be required under the law for the time being in force. 24.To place, to reserve or to Issue bonus shares among distribute as dividends or bonus among the members or otherwise to apply, as the Company may form time to time think fit, any moneys received by way of premium on shares or debentures issued at a premium by the Company and moneys arising from the sale by the Company of forfeited shares, subject, however, to the provisions of the law for the time being in force. 25. To communicate with and /or give aid-pecuniary or otherwise, to any association body or movement hav ing for its objects and solution, settlement of surmounting of industrial or labour problems for the promotion of industry or trade. 26.Subject to section 293A of the Companies Act, 1956 to subscribe in or donate to or guarantee money for any national philanthropic, charitable, benevolent, public general or useful object to any person, fund or organization, association or institution or for any purpose which may be likely directly or indirectly to further the objects of the Company or interest of its members. 27. To subscribe to, become a member of subsidiary and cooperate with any other association, whether incorporated or not, whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of the Company and to procure from and communicate to any such association, such information as may be likely to further the objects of the company. 28.To acquire by purchase, lease, concession, grant, license or otherwise, such lands, buildings, minerals, waterworks, plants, machinery, stock-in-trade, stores, rights, privileges, easements and other property, as may from time to time be deemed necessary for carrying on the business of the Company, and build or erect upon any land of the Company howsoever acquired such manufactories, workshops, warehouses, offices, residence and other buildings and to erect such machinery and construct such roads, ways, tramways, railway branches or sidings, bridges, reservoirs, watercourses, hydraulic works. 29. To acquire form any person, firm or body corporate or unincorporated, whether in India or elsewhere, technical information, know-how, processes, engineering, manufacturing and operating date, plans, layout and blue-prints, useful for the design, erection and operation of plant required for the business of the Company and to acquire any grant or license and other rights and benefits in the foregoing matters and things. 30.To insure with any other company, firm or persons against losses, damages and risk all kinds which may effect the Compa ny, provided that nothing herein contained shall empower the Company to carry on the business of life assurance, accident assurance, fire assurance, employees, liability assurances, industrial assurance, motor assurance or any business of insurance or reinsurance within the meaning of the Insurance Act. 1983 or any Act amending, extending or re-enacting the same. 31. To create any depreciation fund, reserve fund, insurance fund, or any other special fund whether for depreciation or repairs, replacement, improvement, extension or maintenance of any of the properties of the Company or by way of Development Rebate Reserve, or for redemption of debentures or redeemable preference shares or for any other purpose conducive to the interest of the Company. 32.To carry on the other business in any part of the world whether manufacturing or otherwise that may seem to the Company capable of being conveniently carried on in connection with the above objects or calculated directly or indirectly to enhance the value of or render profitable any of the Company's property or rights or which it may be advisable to undertake with a view to improving, developing, rendering, valuable or turning to account any property, real or personal, belonging to the Company or in which the Company may be interested and to do all or any of the above things, either as principals, agents, trustees, contractors or otherwise and either alone or in conjunction with others, and either by or through agents, subcontractors trustees or otherwise. (C) OTHER OBJECTS 1. To Purchase, take on lease or otherwise acquire any mines or quarries, mining rights, land, contracts, works and premises believed to contain various types of marble, granite, sand and lime stone, silica sand and to work, establish, explore, develop, exercise, process treat or deal in the aterial including by-products of mining and to establish factory for processing, finishing treating or conversion of the same into industrial and saleable material. 2. To act as financial, investment and management consultants, agents, brokers, Sub-brokers and representatives and to sell and advice about various schemes of investment small savings and banking services and for this purpose to apply approach acquire, hold and procure such rights title, entitlements, registrations, Licenses and permission from Government, Semi Government, Financial Institution, Companies, mutual funds, local authorities, public bodies, undertakings, banking companies, Reserve Bank of India and from other authorities as may be necessary and expedient. 3.To carry on business of electrical engineers, electricians, engineers, contractors, manufacturer, suppliers, importer, exporter, assembler, repairer, converter and dealer in all type of all electrical appliance, components, devices, disconnectors, transmission line, conductors, hardware, accessories, switchgears, clamps, connectors, distribution, and power transformers, instruments transformers, control p anels, structural and general fabrication, isolating switches, dropout fuses, stay assemblies, cables wirelines, dry cells, accumulators and all other electrical goods and their allied product required or capable of being used in connection with the generation, transmission, distribution, supply accumulation and employment of electricity including high tention lines and extra high voltage field. 4. To carry on the business of garage keepers and suppliers of and dealers in petrol, electricity and other motive power for motor and other things. 5.To carry on the business of manufacturing, marketing, buying, selling, importing, exporting and to function as stockiest, suppliers, distributors, storers, warehousers, C ; F Agents and consignee agents of all kinds of pharmaceuticals, medical, chemical preparations, and compounds, medicines, herbal products, drugs and formulations, surgical and scientific equipment, appliances and accessories of all kinds and description. 6. To manufacture pu rchase or otherwise acquire and sell, dispose of, import, export exchange, hold and deal in diamonds, gems and stone (including kharad) whether precious or semi-precious, synthetic or imitation, bullion, ornament, jewellery consisting wholly or partly of gems and stones, precious metals and articles made therefrom, pearls, whether real or cultured, historical coins, handicraft goods, paintings, Sandalwood goods cutlery, blue Pottery and chinaware, costume curious articles and antiques. 7.To carry on the business of importers, exporters, buyers, sellers, stockiest, suppliers distributors, dealers, hirers, repairers, cleaners, storers and warehouser of automobiles, motor cars, lorries and vans, motor – cycles, cycle-cars, motors, scooters, carriages, amphibious vehicles and vehicles suitable for propulsion on land, sea or in the air or in any combination thereof and vehicles of all descriptions (all hereinafter comprised in the term â€Å"motors and other things†), wheth er propelled or assisted by means of petrol spirit, steam, gas, electrical, animal or other power, and of engines, chassis, bodies and other components, parts and accessories and all machinery, implements, utensils appliances, apparatuses, lubricants, solution, enamels and all things capable of being used for, in or in connection with manufacture maintenance and working of motors and other things or in the construction of any track or surface adopted for the use thereof. 8.To carry on the business of purchasing, selling whether on payment of full amount on or installment basis, exchanging, planning, managing, running, improving, developing, protecting, maintaining, controlling, supervising, disposing off, reclaiming letting or getting on hire, lease contract or otherwise dealing in agriculture farms, forests, gardens, forest products, nursery, pastures, crops, trees, leaves, orchards, estates, fields, plantations, farm houses, wasteland, barren land, arid lands, live stock and plann ing managing, running improving, developing, maintaining, protecting, controlling, supervising, reclaiming, letting or getting on lease, hire, contract or otherwise dealing in deserts, water resources, ponds, lakes, rivers, dams, cacals, wells, natural resources, environment and any other properties or any rights, privileges or easements therein whether belonging to company or not or whether for others or on own account and to carry on technical researches, experiments, development, tests, inventions and provide consultancy services in agriculture, animal husbandry, pollution control and forest environment and land development. 9. To carry on business as Custom House Agents, Custom Clearing Agents, Freight contractors, Shipping Agents, Clearing and forwarding agents, Licensing Agents, Air Freight Agents, Post and Insurance Agents and all kind of agencies business and general brokers. 10. To carry on the business of booking cargoes and luggage of the public in general and of companys constituents in particular with every type of carrier, in particular with air lines, steamship lines, railway and road carriers. 11.To carry on the business of buying, selling, importing, exporting, trading or otherwise deal in consumer products merchandise, provisions, food stuff and commodities of all kinds and description requisite for personal, household and industrial use and consumption, either finished, semi finished or raw material, including at footwears, decorative items, gift items, utility items, utencils, garments, pieces of arts, antiques, handicrafts machinery, equipments, electronic items, toys, capital goods or any other item and to act as an import and export house and to perform all the functions and undertake all activities connected therewith including obtaining and dealing in licenses, quotas, certificate and other rights. 12. To carry on business of designing, processing, manufacturing of all kinds of engineering and electronic items. 13.To carry on the busin ess of manufacturing, processing, manipulating crushing, importing, exporting, buying, selling or otherwise dealing in fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides and other allied products. 14. To carry on the business of manufacturers and suppliers, erectors or fabricators or otherwise dealers in all kinds of plant, machinery and equipments, stores, tools, gadgets, wire drawers, tubes, boilers and other mechanical and electrical and electronic products, devices, contraptions, instruments, spares and components and to procure agencies for the same and to develop, acquire supply plans, drawings, estimates, project-reports and know- how for industries, business, Companies, services and public bodies and Government. 15.To purchase, acquire, take on lease, sub-lease or License or exchange, hire, construct, manage, control or otherwise carry on the business of cinema hall, theatres, studio, picture places, multiplex theatres, or for purpose of exhibition of films, dramatic or theatrical perfor mances, concerts or other entitlements or amusements and to provide for the production, direction exhibition, representation, displays, whether by mechanicals means or otherwise and to carry on the business of films, talkies, exhibitors, producers distributors and directors of films and any activities relating to stage performance. 16. To manufacture assemble, fit, repair, convert, overhaul after maintain and mprove all types of electronic components, devices, equipments and appliances equipments such as television and wireless apparatus including radio receivers and transmitters, tap recorders broadcast relay and receition equipments phonographs and other equipments used an in or for audio and visual communications apparatus and equipments including those using electromagnetic waves intended for radio-telegraphic or radio-telephonic communication photocopiers electric lighting controls, continuos fan/motor speed controls continuous flashers and fire alarm systems, digital and other electronic clock time relay punch card machines electromechanical pneumatic controls computers and automatic calculators X – rays machines tubes surgical medical and other appliances intended for slectro and other therapy treatment and in all types of tapes magnetic and otherwise photographic films projectors and carriers and capicitors resistance condensors semi-condensors transistors recifiers integrated and hybrid circults relays potentiometer connectors printed circuits coils chocks transformers switches volume controls plugs sockers aerial gears diodes and allied items intended for used in electronic device and in air conditioners automobiles refrigators washing machine heaters and cooking renges and other types of domestic appliances and any type of equipments used in the generation transmission and receiving of sound light and electrical impulses and component parts thereof and other materials used in or in connection with electronic and electrical industries 17.To ca rry on the business of farming, horticulture, floriculture, sericulture, tissuculture, green houses, red houses, drips irrigation, sericulture, dairies, cultivation of all kinds of food grains, seeds oil-seeds, fruits, flowers, hohoba, proprietors of orachards and traders, importers, exports, sellers, buyers and dealers in aof products farming horticulture, floriculture, sericulture and fishing and to carry on the business of growers manufacturers, traders grinders, rollers, processors, storers, cold canneres and preservers and dealers of poultry products fodder, fruits, dehydrated, canned or converted agricultural products provisions, food, vegetable herbs flowers and to extract by-products and derivatives whether edible, pharmaceutical, medicinal, or of any kind of nature whether and food preparation of every kind and description and to carry on the business of tissue cultural laboratories, production of plant manufacturing of agro products and extraction of oils floriculture acti vities and providing consultancy for the above referred objects, whether in India or elsewhere. 18.To purchases take on lease, hire, erect, construct, build, alter, equip, maintain or otherwise acquire, establish, run, manage, administer own and to carry on the business of running, Hotels, Motels, Resorts, Inns, holiday homes, guest houses, refreshment rooms and lodging apartments, housekeepers, night clubs, casinos, discotheques musement and entertainment parks, swimming pools, health clubs, dressing rooms, library play ground, licensed victualers, wine, beer and spirit merchants, dealers, and manufacture of aerated and artificial water and other in India or in any part of the world and to act as agents of any hotel and to perform all and singular the several duties, services which any hotel company usually do and perform. IV. The liability of the members is limited. V. The authorised capital of the Company is RS. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One lakhs) divided into 10,000 ( Ten thousand Equ ity Shares of Rs. 10/- (Rupees. Ten) each.
